Newcastle based alt.folk cellist/singer Ceitidh Mac brings a progressive twist to her music. Previous and continued support come from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6 Music and press from Narc Magazine, Crack Magazine, Nest Collective and Down By the River among others. She has also worked with indie pop artist Martha Hill as well as The Dawdler most recently, while also sharing stages with alt.folk hero Rachael Dadd, progressive jazzers Get the Blessing and Dublin folk legends Lankum.
Working with sound engineer Sam Grant (Pigsx7, Richard Dawson) and producer Calum Howard (The Dawdler, Greytapes) Ceitidh Mac‘s sound is consistently growing in quality. The live instruments; cello, vibraphone and percussion are combined with the gritty, analogue synth sounds as Ceitidh’s songwriting tackles human nature and social commentary in a subtle, captivating way.
